Walt Disney World has officially announced the expansion of its Airport Luggage Transfer service to all Value Resorts, following its initial rollout at Pop Century. The service, now named ALT, is currently limited to Southwest Airlines as the company behind the operation scales up. This move comes after positive feedback from guests and readers since the return of the Resort Airline Check-In Service was piloted earlier this week.
The Airport Luggage Transfer service, offered at select Disney Resort hotels, allows eligible guests to check their bags directly to their flight from the convenience of their accommodation. The collaboration with Orlando International Airport aims to enhance the travel experience for guests flying out of MCO on Southwest Airlines. Signs and guidelines have been set up at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort to facilitate the luggage drop-off process for guests utilizing the service.
Guests staying at Disney Value Resort hotels can take advantage of the Airport Luggage Transfer service starting April 3, 2025. To use the service, guests need to check in at their hotel, retain their Southwest Airlines tags, check-in online the day before departure, and drop off their bags at the designated location in the lobby area of the Resort hotel by the specified time.
It is recommended to drop off bags the night before the scheduled departure. However, for flights before 1:00 PM, bags should be dropped off by 1:00 AM, while for later flights, bags must be dropped off at least 4 hours prior to departure or by 1:00 PM, whichever comes first. The service is available from 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM.
Participating Disney Value Resort hotels include Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, All-Star Music Resort, All-Star Sports Resort, Art of Animation Resort, and Pop Century Resort. The service is exclusive to guests checking out from these hotels with return flights on Southwest Airlines.
ALT solely covers luggage transfer to the Orlando International Airport and does not include transportation for guests to the airport or other services like printing boarding passes. In the event of flight cancellations, bags will be rerouted accordingly. Guests can track their bags using the Southwest Airlines app and report any issues to Southwest Airlines directly.
As the ALT service expands, guests can anticipate a smoother travel experience when flying out of Orlando International Airport on Southwest Airlines from Disney Value Resorts. Stay tuned for further updates on this service and other developments within the Disney Parks.
