Taoyuan International Airport has been recognized as the best airport in the world for baggage delivery by Skytrax, a prominent air transport rating organization. This accolade was part of the “World Airport Awards” recently announced by Skytrax, where Taoyuan International Airport also secured the 43rd position in the “World’s Best Airports 2025” list, marking a significant improvement from its previous ranking.
Outperforming other major international airports, Taoyuan International Airport surpassed Kansai International Airport in Osaka and Singapore’s Changi Airport to claim the top spot for baggage delivery. The airport’s overall ranking in the top 100 airports globally saw a notable rise, climbing 23 spots compared to the previous year, showcasing its commitment to excellence in passenger services.
Additionally, Taoyuan International Airport excelled in various award categories, positioning itself in the top 10 for seven different aspects. Notably, in the category of serving 40 to 50 million passengers, the airport secured the 6th position, with Rome’s Fiumicino Airport leading the pack. The airport also stood out in categories such as airport immigration service, airport staff, cleanliness, and restroom facilities.
Yang Wei-fuu, the chairman of Taoyuan International Airport Corp. Ltd (TIAC), attributed this success to the dedication and hard work of the airport’s 35,000 staff members. He emphasized the collaborative efforts with airlines and ground handling companies to enhance services, especially in the wake of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Reflecting on the award for baggage delivery, Yang highlighted the airport’s continuous efforts to improve operational efficiency and service quality. Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted commended Taoyuan International Airport for its commitment to enhancing the overall passenger experience, underscoring the airport’s achievements in the industry.
Looking ahead, Taoyuan International Airport has plans to complete the north concourse of Terminal 3 in the latter half of the year. This new infrastructure aims to elevate the airport’s offerings and services for both travelers and airlines, further solidifying its position as a leading global aviation hub.
The “World Airport Awards” by Skytrax, established in 1999, serve as a benchmark for airport quality worldwide, evaluating customer service and facilities at over 500 airports. Singapore’s Changi Airport clinched the top spot in this year’s rankings, followed by Hamad International Airport in Doha and Haneda Airport in Tokyo, highlighting the fierce competition and excellence prevalent in the aviation industry.
